Honey Cakes
A favorite winter past time is researching honey and honeybees and thier roles in antiquity, mythos and legend. Tolkien, Greek and Biblical history are all excellent resources for these searches. We will explore alot of these whimsical side quests in the coming months, they are our favorite. Today its the honey cakes from the Northmen of the First Age, (Tolkien).
"The Beornings seemed to have shared a dislike for Dwarves, perhaps related to the latter's praise of metals and the former's disinterest in it.
They were known as great bakers, famous for their honey-cakes (which could feed travelers similarly to the lembas, although they were reluctant to share them with travelers around the time of the War of the Ring."
I wouldn't share either.
